28 years ago today was a big day for me: the day I became a big sister. Now, I fully understand that people aspire to be many different things in their life time, but this big sister gig is what I was born to do. Sure there are plenty of other people who deserve some credit for their arrival and survival in this world but that’s not what this blog is about.
Can’t you just see the pride and excitement in my face? These girls gave me purpose, they brought essence into my being, and began my life’s mission of being a big sister. So yeah, today is a pretty big day for me.
So now they’re 28, my best friends, and the loves of my life. We’re battling ALS together, navigating married life and motherhood, traveling together, and becoming adult-ish. I really don’t know what they would do without me and my prayer is that they never have to find out.
Here’s to your birthday. I couldn’t be more proud of the adult-ish people you’ve become. I’m thankful each and every day that you’re mine.
I pray that somewhere you’ve still got that sweet green cheetah shirt. ❤
