Hurricane Harvey was horrible, awful, devastating and the worst part is we’re not anywhere close to recovering what was lost. The pictures and videos are heart wrenching. The damage and loss is unimaginable. 

It’s amazing to see the outpouring of love, support, and dollars flowing to South Texas. There’s no shortage of people opening their hearts, homes and donating items to those in need. Everything is bigger in Texas and that is easily seen in the size of rescue efforts being coordinated across the state. 

On September 16th, Team SunnyStrong is walking to raise awareness and funds for MDA in the fight against ALS. The walk begins at 8:30 AM at Globe Life Park. We will meet prior to the walk to hand out shirts, take pictures, and get the party started. 

After we’re done with the MDA Walk we’ll move down to Del Norte in Godley for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Benefit. Y’all this is going to be awesome. Live music, food, and donations for victims – its a great after party location for Team SunnyStrong. These tacos are life changing and it’s BYOB! Pack your cooler, your chair and a donation for the benefit. From their event page: 

Our friends and family need your help! We are hosting a benefit and invite everyone to come out and show your support. We are all so blessed to have our homes, and families uneaffected by the tragic events. Lets rally together to show our generosity to those who are not as fuortunate as us. Those who are calling a shleter their home, and those who are struggling to find food and water for theirselves and their babies.

We have multiple talented artists lined up to crank some tunes and get the fundraising going. We are accepting donations at the gate or its a $5 cover in which all goes to the victims of Harvey! The items being requested are:

– baby formula/ food

– baby bottles

– baby wipes

– diapers, all sizes

– all toiletries

– Clothes, all sizes

– Blankets

– Canned food

– bottled water

– pet food

– toys 

Clear out your kiddos toy boxes of all the toys they never use, and the clothes they don’t fit into anymore. Get rid of those canned veggies you know you’ll never cook. And be blessed in your contributions!
