Seriously y’all, this takes 30 seconds to complete.
Momentum is building on Capitol Hill to remove the five-month waiting period for people with ALS to receive access to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). Five months is a long time for somebody with ALS. This year, 1,500 to 2,000 people living with ALS will be impacted by the delay in receiving SSDI.
The ALS Disability Insurance Access Act (H.R. 1171/S. 379) is a bipartisan bill that would waive the waiting period people with ALS face before they receive SSDI. As you know, it is essential that those who have received an ALS diagnosis begin receiving disability insurance benefits as soon as possible.
We need to take advantage of the momentum and pass The ALS Disability Insurance Access Act before the end of the year! YOU CAN HELP – Contact your members of Congress now!
