I’ve removed all the unnecessary hair, and what’s remaining has been waxed, cut, and colored accordingly. My suitcase is bulging with who knows what, and I can already think of 5 things I’ll have to get there. You’d think I’d be a pro by now, we’ll see what happens.
We are soon to board the plane for the first leg of this trek, all 17 hours of it, then it’s a 5 hour jump from Sydney to Perth. If we weren’t close before, 22 hours together of space invading plane time should do the trick. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t nervous, this is a lot. I’m also very excited, here’s to hoping the excitement outweighs the nerves at least until I can find some vodka.
I hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday by far, and though we were missing some of our bunch we had good food and better togetherness.
Do me a quick favor, click here to see a speech from a show I’ve recently started watching. This part got me in the feels:
“what we do, it isn’t easy, and we pay a price for wanting to make a difference, and we will never give in, and we will never give up.”
I have to believe that we’re doing this to make a difference. We’re going across the world to change the future of ALS, to change the outcome. I’ve got too much skin in the game, too many friends taken too soon, too many fighting this fight alongside of me. I dedicate this experience to all of my pALS, those we miss daily and those giving this disease hell each and every day.
Love y’all! I’ll keep you updated on our adventures. Thank you for the prayers, the financial support, and the encouragement. I couldn’t do this life, this fight, this trip without each of you.
