Radicava is becoming so routine that I completely forgot to document Round 12! Hope it was as good for you as it was for me – insert some corny joke about only smoking after sex – so here we are: Lucky Round 13 of Radicava Ridiculousness. Did I tell you I started on Medicare in May? It’s enough to make my eyes cross but we’re dealing with it. Only major change for me is now I have someone coming to the house to access me rather than going to Soleo and eating all of their snacks.

We discuss this all the time, my ALS is not the same as most people I’ve met. I was blessed with the ability to continue working 2.5 years after diagnosis. I was blessed with a generous benefits package from the organization I was working for that the five months that I had to wait for Medicare to kick in wasn’t life or death.

For Mary and her family, 5 months is a matter of life and death. I do not take my coverage for granted and do my best to be thankful for the opportunity to be placed on hold 15 times every time I call in – yay! Optimistic is my middle name, dammit!

In other news, yesterday was my 3rd of 5 appointments for the Answer ALS study. Any day with Todd is fun in my opinion. I wanted to snap a pic of the mean EMG machine that I always talk about, but I didn’t get a good one of the cattle prod. Don’t worry, I didn’t let Dr. Heitzman shock me – it was just in the room for ambiance. But we did have fun bowling a few weeks ago at the Celebrity Bowling Classic, yes my eyes are closed.
