November 3, 2017 was the last day I worked for a living, ALS is funny that way. Never in my wildest dreams would I have envisioned being “retired” at the age of 30. God has the best plans, and continues to remind me who really is in charge around here. It’s been a great year full of firsts and once in a lifetime opportunities. I’ve been given the gift of time, and feel extremely blessed with the chance to focus my life on living rather than working to live. I loved my job at JA, but I wouldn’t trade this investment of time and energy in my family for anything.
Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished in this year of retirement:
- We Walked
- Baton Rouge
- Great Women of Texas
- One Year Wedding Anniversary
- We celebrated the life of Parker Greer
- Radicava Ridiculousness
- Golden, Colorado
- 3 year Diagnosis’a’versary
- Depression
- Blog’a’versary
- 31st Super Bowl Birthday
- Trevor Noah
- Garth Brooks
- Student Loan Forgiveness
- Death Sucks
- Advocacy Conference
- ALS Awareness Month
- Destination Dingler
- I love you the Moses
- Smokin’ for Sunny
- The Remedy with Tova Sido
- Ritcher runs for SunnyStrong
- LOTS of birthdays
- Ice Bucket Challenge

- Portraits of ALS
As you can see, we haven’t slowed down even a smidge. Things to do, people to see – that sort of thing. As we approach the 2 year anniversary of Happily Ever Erasmus, I’m beyond thankful to have this man by my side.
Year 2 of retirement is already shaping up to be epic, including trips to Scotland and Vegas to get the party started off on the right foot. We couldn’t survive without your love and prayers, thank you for being part of our group of crazies!
